5 hour drive from Johannesburg. Scheduled daily flights from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit Airport (twice daily). Selected flights from Cape Town (3 times weekly). Transfers from Hoedspruit Airport to the Lodge available.

The intimate Waterside Tamboti Villa, nestled under a grove of Tamboti trees, officially opens its doors from 1st March 2021. 

 

Set away from the main area of the Waterside Lodge, the spectacular newly built Villa boasts a generous main living area with an inviting plunge pool and interactive kitchen.

 

Four lavish en-suite rooms, connected by interleading passages, make the Villa the perfect get away for small groups or families. 

 

The Thornybush Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger, is well known for incredible wildlife sightings, which along with the  picture-perfect Villa, will make for an unforgettable break away

 

ABOUT THORNYBUSH WATERSIDE LODGE

Set on the banks of a tranquil lake encompassed with breath-taking views of the African bushveld, Thornybush Waterside Lodge affords instant relaxation.

The lodges 20 comfortably appointed air-conditioned Thatched Suites blend into the natural habitat and are located along pathways surrounded by an abundance of trees and manicured gardens. En-suite air- conditioned accommodation tastefully decorated by crisp white bedding.

Highly skilled rangers’ and trackers ensure Big 5 game viewing opportunities during dawn and dusk safaris, whilst bushwalks are for the more adventurous. Guests are invited to relax and take in the African surrounds after breakfast on the main deck area overlooking the lake, the swimming pool or alternatively retreat to the comfort of your suite.

Thornybush Waterside Lodge will from mid-January 2012 have access to an even greater Reserve making game viewing some of the best in the Country.

ON THE R40 FROM BUSHBUCKRIDGE


Continue through Acornhoek towards Klaserie

Continue for about 7 km

Turn right towards Hoedspruit just before Klaserie which remains the R40

Continue for 24 km towards Hoedspruit - Turn right at the Eastgate Airport sign / Argyle Road

Continue 14 km (tarred road) and turn right onto Guernsey Road (following the signs to Thornybush Reserve)

Continue 9km (gravel road) passing Thornybush Game Reserve Gate on left

Continue a further 2km and turn left at Thornybush Waterside Lodge gate and continue as directed to the lodge

FROM THE NORTH ON THE R40


At Hoedspruit take the R 40 south (to the right) towards Bushbuckridge

Continue 6 km and turn left at the Eastgate Airport sign / Argyle Road

Continue 14 km (tarred road) and turn right onto Guernsey Road (following the signs to Thornybush Reserve)

Continue 9km (gravel road passing Thornybush Game Reserve Gate on left

Continue a further 2km and turn left at Thornybush Waterside Lodge gate and continue as directed to the lodge

FROM JOHANNESBURG


The N12 to Emalahleni (Witbank), where the N12 highway links up with the N4 highway

Continue with the N4 in the direction Mbombela (Nelspruit).

Approximately 60 km past Middleburg take the R 540 to your left.

Travel though the towns of eMakhazeni (Belfast) and eMnotweni (Dullstroom) to Mashishing (Lydenburg)

Take the R 36 (which becomes the R 527) towards Hoedspruit, passing through Origstad and descending down the Able Erasmus Pass

At Hoedspruit take the R 40 south (to the right) towards Bushbuckridge

Continue 6 km and turn left at the Eastgate Airport sign / Argyle Road

Continue 14 km (tarred road) and turn right onto Guernsey Road (following the signs to Thornybush Reserve)

Continue 9km (gravel road) passing Thornybush Game Reserve Gate on left

Continue a further 2km and turn left at Thornybush Waterside Lodge gate and continue as directed to the lodge

FROM PRETORIA


Take the N4 in the direction Mbombela (Nelspruit)

FROM SWAZILAND


From Jeppe's Reef border post, follow the R 570 north in the direction Malelane

Take the N4 highway in the direction of Mbombela (Nelspruit) for 64 km

On arrival in Mbombela (Nelspruit) turn right on the R 40 in the direction White River

Continue Through White River, Hazyview and Bushbuckridge to Klaserie

24 km after Klaserie turn off - turn right at the Eastgate Airport sign / Argyle Road

Continue 14 km (tarred road) and turn right onto Guernsey Road (following the signs to Thornybush Reserve)

Continue 9km (gravel road) passing Thornybush Game Reserve Gate on left

Continue a further 2km and turn left at Thornybush Waterside Lodge gate and continue as directed to the lodge

Sole Use of Lodge (catered) rate includes:
• Accommodation for max 8 guests
• Brunch, light snack high tea & evening meal daily
• Morning and afternoon game drives and walks
• Basic game drive snacks included
• Wood, ice, water supplied
• Housekeeping services provided daily, There will be a supplement of 50% on the per person sharing rate for single accommodation in a Tamboti Suite.
• Special rate for sole use of the lodge is based on a maximum of 8 guests per night.,Tamboti Villa:
▪ Children from 12 years of age are welcome when accommodated in a Tamboti Suite, booked on an individual basis..
▪ Tamboti Villa accepts children of all ages when booked on sole use basis.
▪ Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult during game drives.
▪ Children under 16 years of age are not permitted on bush walks., Please note children under the age of 6 years will not be permitted on game drives.
• Children between the ages of 6 & 12 years are permitted on drives at the discretion of the game ranger.
